QuoteMac
QuoteMac, short for ‘Quote Machine’ is our fully operational on-line broker management system. Launched in 1997, it was one of the first Quotation engines available for Commercial and Liability insurance. Today, it is one of the most sophisticated system available in the UK.
From The Beginning
Four years after APC was formed, it was clear to us that most commercial and liability business was much more difficult to deal with than it should have been. We wanted to simplify things by making sure brokers could offer instant quotations to their clients without waiting weeks for a response on a faxed presentation.
QuoteMac was launched in 1997 with just four products available. Programmed in DOS and installed via several floppy discs, it still delivered instant quotations subject to the completion of proposal forms. Despite technology being far from perfect, the first version of QuoteMac was a big hit with our family of brokers.
Evolving With Technology

‘QuoteMac for Windows’ was the second version launched in 2000. This version gave brokers more enhancements available from windows including multi users, simple installation via compact disc and faster processing of quotations and proposal forms.
Within a year of QuoteMac for Windows being launched, we could see the power that the internet could offer and for APC, this was clearly the next step forward. |
The Future
2003 saw the launch of the first on-line quotation engine available in the UK - QuoteMac.net. From it's launch, QuoteMac.net has revolutionised the way brokers handle insurance from day to day, in fact it was the only on-line quotation engine to allow brokers to print their own policy documents and certificates.
The system has grown rapidly over the years and is still growing. QuoteMac.net is now a fully functional management system offering brokers a wide range of key features, including:
